[!CrackMonkey!] we want XFree86 out of NetBSD

Man, I'm all for the quick sweet death of X at this point.
I've been trying to package XFree86 for GAR for the past few months,
and it's an unreliable bug-ridden piece of filth.
If you shut off fonts foo, then the X server silently doesn't build,
but all the related clients and utilities go flitting about into your
install dirs. If you tell it you don't want any client utilities
(like twm or xeyes), then you get NO FONTS. It won't make mkfontdir
The damn build system does most of the build with make -k, so errors
scroll giddily past and vanish into nothingness. I've been told that
even the XFree86 people only understand like 2/3 of the codebase, and
the build system is something no one really understands any more.
Goddammit, when the hell will we get something sensible that divides
up the network protocol stuff, the driver stuff, and the APIs into
THREE OR FOUR DIFFERENT BINARIES. Damn you Berlin! Curse your
tardiness! You, GGI! You are insufficiently useful!
I HATE X!
