My mom, bless her heart, once got thrown out of a party when she asked
one of my teachers about what the school's policy was about kids who
were too advanced for their class, and the teacher said "oh, they all
even out eventually".

Don't let your kid's teachers talk you into believing this shit.  If
your kid can't pay attention in school and you think it's the school's
fault, get your kid out of there and into a real school, no matter what
it takes.
