I assume libproprlist _is_ a compiler.  It translates some language
into C data structures.  We already have a program called cc that does
the same job.  If C is such a terrible language that it isn't even
good enough for the menial task of configuring C programs, then why
write programs in C?

In the Opus Maximus days, the Opus people had to write a configuration
file compiler and a configuration loader because, although Opus was
free software, their C compiler was not.  Now that everyone has cc and
libdl, where's the problem?
