So, what you're saying is that in some kind of male bonding ritual,
you and/or several of your peers "merciless[ly] taunted" a chess geek
and then humiliated him by "parading" his shirt, symbolizing both
his abberant unconformity and the subjugation of this by you, in
front of his peers and potential mates.
