the issue is of course quite complex, but you cannot say that that 
the western world (esp. america) hasn't had much to do with that. 
the us has had quite a history this century with taking out people 
who don't "play our game" and replacing them with people who they 
think will.  look at chile, nicaragua, etc.  so it's not completely 
because they have less stuff....people just get upset when other 
countries come in and dick with their situation.  pinochet wasn't 
exactly a nice guy.  however, to be fair a lot of countries that get 
the other end are fucked up internally.  death->optimistic 
pacifism->work the system (poss. warlord)->cou->terrorism.
