Well, I'm sure I'm about to show you my lack of knowledge about free
software licenses. But it was my understanding that if Apple linked to
GPL'ed software and/or libraries, they would be required to also open
that software. It is, of course, possible that Apple did not link to any
open libraries in the development of their GUI, but I assumed that they
did at least some of that. I was also under the understanding that they
specifically avoided Linux because of the license (and not because of
BSD / Linux kernel superiorities/deficiencies).
If none of that is true, can I still be annoyed that Apple didn't open
their GUI just to be nice?
