Today's issue of BusinessWeek (Feb 12, 2000) reports, under the headline
"Don't give us any crap"  that the Swiss police protecting the World
Economic Forum at Davos had loaded their water cannon with liquid
manure, which was normally sprayed on fields as fertilizer.

Squirting the demonstrators with manure would be a last resort...

When asked about it, a heavily armed policewoman in Davos remarked: "At
least it's organic."
