the PC's for Kids vs. Microsoft debacle:

Hi Members of SLUG,

Over the past 7 weeks we at Pcs for kids have received many support letters and direct
assistance from the Linux community all over the world.

It have been reported over the world of the on-going problems this little known charity
has with Bill Gates and the empire he co-founded (Microsoft)

Well Microsoft has another problem, the world is attacking Bill in Print / Media and Voice.

Last night, Michael Moore who has a TV program (The Awful Truth) just went into bat for us
in a big way. You can read and see how this is going to upset Microsoft even more by visiting

This is not our doing, but the public telling Microsoft that there are people who care about
our "Less Fortunate" and we do thank them for this.

Having said this we must also point out that Pc's for kids is far from buried by the might of
the Lawyers at Microsoft.

We have just completed loading some 20 systems with Linux and offered Start Office, these went
out to local Victorian children and we plan another 20 systems next week, however we are still
unable to solve the lower end systems offered to us through donations.

The Linux community has shown us that people do care and we thank all for their support, we must
keep our dream alive and assist children therefore we will fight on to make this happen.
