"....and this was Mr. Neakums first compromise. By accepting that
there was something called MS-DOS plain text he gave Word and
Microsoft credibility and removed their need to actually save
their files in wholely plain text. Mr. Neakums followers took
note of his tacit acceptance of this level of plainness and
eventually "plain text" was decided to indicate "Word
text" and vi became banned. Out of his head on absinthe
Linus kept reapeating "sneakums says that MS-DOS text is
good" and gave permission for the replacement of /etc with
a registry. The rest is history....."
