okay, so apt could actually fall back on another retrieval method if
it can't find it in one place. It currently doesn't do this, however.
I was saying that the broken md5sum would cause apt to just balk and
give up. I was NOT saying that you'd get a bum package (hence the
communist manifesto, rather than some random evil proprietary package
or something).
