I played Killer a few years ago, with rather liberal rules: Any replica
weapon good enough to bring laughs, but bad enough to not be mistaken for the
real thing was allowed, and no areas were off limits. I made a wonderful
chainsaw out of cardboard, PVC tubing and pieces from an old mini vacuum
cleaner, to make it roar suitably (sounded quite impressive since there was a
lot of resonance in the main cardboard box). For the more subtle needs, I had
a wooden katana.
